Advertising Photography

  • The Client & Sector: IESO Digital Health. Healthcare.
  • The Brief: Create a series of advertising photography portraits for use in promoting mental health services nationwide. Photograph everyday individuals dealing with mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression, shot in familiar surroundings such as homes and workplaces.
  • My Approach: Advertising photography comes in many forms and this commission built up slowly over two years and involved the use of professional models. I combined natural light with a studio strobe look to give the images a high-end look and to inject some mood. Challenges were the weather for the outdoor shoots and getting the expressions right. The models needed to look neutral, but not sad.
  • Finished Work & Outcomes: Final images were used on billboards across the London Underground network.
