DECEMBER – A NICE, SHORT MONTH

December 2018,

Busy in the studio, off for 12 days!

December is always a strange one for me.  I get incredibly busy in the portrait studio over at Mike Thornton Photography and I combine this with a handful of commercial jobs.  At the same time, I try to give myself a Christmas!  This year, I managed to get my portrait customers to play ball and my Christmas orders were collected by the middle of the month.  Here at StillVision, I started with an interiors job for Fenner’s Hotel in Cambridge.  I’ve shot all their interiors and details and this commission was simply adding to their portfolio.

I also shot some more product photography for Chicken Guard.  They’ve been a good client in 2018 and I hope to see more of them in 2019.  On this occasion, I was photographing a ‘history of’.  I shot their automatic chicken coop door mechanisms from prototype, to the most recent 2018 edition along with a few mechanism details!

I shot a small handful of corporate events in December.  This one, in London, was a combination of board meeting photography and portrait work.  It was shot for the Internet Watch Foundation with very little time to shoot.  I was book opportunistically for a board meeting, as getting the whole board together is a rare event… but they can’t stop talking once they do meet up!  As another good client of mine, I look forward to working with them again in 2019!

I managed a very respectable 12 days off over Christmas and for the first time in a number of years, didn’t shoot between Christmas and New Year.  And very nice it was too…

So, happy new year to my clients and customers new and old and I look forward to another year of photography (my 11th)!
